Rishikesh, 06 July 2025 – Professor (Dr.) Meenu Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Rishikesh, completed three years of her tenure on July 6. As the first woman director of the institute, she has not only prioritized administrative transparency but has also led remarkable progress in healthcare services, medical education, and technological innovation.<\/p>\n
Prof. Singh assumed charge as Director on July 7, 2022. Under her leadership, AIIMS Rishikesh has continuously enhanced the quality of healthcare services. The rising number of patients stands as clear evidence of this improvement.<\/p>\n
Major Improvements in Healthcare Services<\/p>\n
Over the past three years, the OPD, IPD, and emergency services have been significantly strengthened. Services were simplified and made more efficient, especially for the underprivileged. Leveraging technology, AIIMS Rishikesh launched telemedicine, tele-follow-up, and drone-based medical services to extend healthcare access to remote areas.<\/p>\n
Expansion of Medical Education and Research<\/p>\n
Prof. Meenu Singh introduced new academic programs in the medical college, including MD in Public Health Science, Family Medicine, and Evidence Synthesis. To promote research and innovation, the Department of Integrated Medicine and a Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) were established.<\/p>\n

Special Initiatives for Public Health<\/p>\n
Through the Outreach Cell, public participation was promoted via regular health awareness campaigns and medical camps in community areas.<\/p>\n
Future Plans<\/p>\n
Prof. Meenu Singh shared that the coming years will focus on further strengthening the hospital\u2019s infrastructure. Modernizing the OPD, IPD, and emergency services remains a top priority.
